Cat sitters and your cat/s are fully insured during your booking.

We personally try to get to know each and every cat sitter that applies to Cat in a Flat.

We’ll try to make sure every sitter is a true cat lover, is able to take good care of your cat while you’re away and follows our 'Code of Conduct'.

Insurance Cover

As long as cat sitters are booked and paid through Cat in a Flat they will be insured for:
  • Veterinary Reimbursement up to £2 000 / Cat / Small Pet Mammal, excess £175
  • Accidental Damage within the property of the Cat Owner up to £1000, excess £250
  • Loss of Keys up to £250, excess £50

 

Why We Love Our Cat Sitters

  1. As part of our on-boarding process, and in order to become a fully fledged cat sitter we check proof of address.
  2. We personally try to interview all cat sitters. During the interview we discuss and establish the applicant's cat related experience and relevant qualifications, we gather information and ask a series of questions that help us determine whether they are suitable for cat sitting or not.
  3. Completed profiles are a must. A detailed profile indicates that the sitter is dedicated to Cat in a Flat and is being upfront about their experience in caring for your cats.
  4. We also ask cat owners to read reviews from other cat owners and look for additional credentials on the cat sitters’ profile. Profiles will indicate if sitters have a clean Criminal Record (DBS / CRB check), have looked after cats before and if they are comfortable to administer medication (please ask the cat sitter for printed proof).
  5. If for some unfortunate reason a sitter does not behave well by breaching the 'Code of Conduct' or we recieve concern from an owner, we will remove the sitters profile within 48 hours.

Ps. Arranging to meet the cat sitter in advance is a great way for them to get to know you and your cat.

*Cat in a Flat is independent of all its members' businesses and although they registered with us and have agreed to abide by our code of conduct we are not a policing organisation and do not accept any liability for them. Your contract is with your chosen cat sitter and therefore you should make your own enquiries and rely on your own judgment as to their credibility.
